Mixed Media on Canvas Australian Outback Collection
Part of my Australian Outback Collection, Carved Country explores the slow geological shaping of land through time.
A dominant sweep of aged grey rock winds across the surface like a valley floor carved by centuries of climate and erosion. Layered textures suggest exposed mineral deposits and hardened terrain, while a softened horizon introduces distance and atmosphere — allowing the physicality of the land to remain centre stage.
Though smaller in scale than my signature large-format works, this piece carries the same weight and intensity. Heavy texture, strong blacks and a restrained neutral palette ground the composition in earth and stone.
These smaller works are created intentionally — offering collectors the opportunity to own a piece of Australian country within a more intimate scale, without compromising on depth, texture or presence.
Carved Country is proof that scale may shift — but the land remains powerful.
