This stunning diptych comprises 2 separate canvases that pair together to create one extra large artwork measuring a whopping 2.4m wide.
The abstract landscape is my interpretation of the drying process of Lake Eyre. Water reaching the lake now evaporates very rapidly, and the surface of the lake bed has a thin crust of salt deposited by water that has evaporated. Lake Eyre is normally dry; it fills completely only an average of twice in a century, but partial, minor fillings happen much more often. The strong middle section of white denotes the horizon of established salt and the creeping salt fingers as they make their way over the cracked effect of the landscape.
This is a beautiful big piece and one I’m really proud of. It was definitely a labor of love this one, and a personal favourite. It will look fantastic on a large wall and will suit any wall colour or decor and looks especially awesome on any shade of green wall or feature wall.It can be framed but as both canvases are placed next to each other it doesn’t need to be.
Each canvas has been painted on the sides (gallery wrap) so it extends all way round.
