This piece feels like the earth has been stripped back… like you’re seeing what normally sits underneath.
The surface is heavy and textured, almost like wet ground or rock that’s been worn down and opened up over time. There’s a sense that something has shifted here — like the land has been pushed, pulled, or weathered until it’s finally revealed what’s beneath.
Even though it’s a smaller piece, it still carries that same weight. The textures do all the talking… you can almost feel the grit and movement in it.
There’s a quiet tension to it too — that balance between calm sky above and the darker, exposed ground below. It draws you in a little closer, makes you look a bit longer… like you’re trying to work out what’s happened here.
