Inspired by the rugged beauty of Royal National Park, Sydney, NSW, I wanted this artwork to capture the dramatic meeting of land and sea.
A towering sandstone cliff, blackened by time, stands strong with its sheer face exposed to the elements.
Above, a layer of subtle grey/green to indicate vegetation clings to the top, a striking contrast to the raw rock beneath.
Below, the shoreline stretches out, where waves crash against the sand, their white crests swirling around scattered black rocks.
The scene evokes a sense of power—where ancient stone, restless ocean, and fleeting greenery coexist in a delicate, yet unyielding balance.
This abstract landscape is my nod to the towering presence of the cliffs above the sea at the Royal National Park, NSW.
The layers of structured texture and depth of this artwork is difficult to show in photos, but this is a stunning artwork showing the sheer size of the cliff face against the horizon line.
