Barren Region speaks to a place where little remains on the surface—where colour has receded and the land lies exposed. The composition is stripped back, allowing the horizontal bands to read as layers of earth, worn and revealed over time.
There is a quiet tension between presence and absence. The open, softened spaces suggest stillness, while the darker, fractured lines beneath hint at what sits below—weight, history, and the marks left behind.
Rather than depicting a specific location, this work captures the feeling of a region emptied of excess. A place where nothing distracts, and everything that remains carries significance.
