A sweeping formation cuts across the work, its ridged and fractured surface reminiscent of an ancient cliff face shaped slowly by time and exposure. There is something familiar in its form — an echo of the dramatic escarpments and weathered ridgelines found throughout the Springbrook hinterland, where rock, earth and vegetation have been carved into the landscape over countless years.
Above, a softly layered sky brings openness and movement, contrasting with the weight and physicality of the land below. Warm ochres, umbers and deep earthy browns shift across the surface, while smaller textural formations appear almost like remnants of exposed rock emerging from the terrain.
